| | | | | As we journey through this season of Lent, we are reminded of the call to deeper discipleship and transformation. In John 8:31-32, Jesus says, “If you abide in my word, you are really my disciples. Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” Lent invites us to renew our commitment to Jesus’ teachings, to embrace the freedom He offers, and to allow His truth to transform us from the inside out. For the young people we serve at NET Ministries, this season is a powerful opportunity to reflect, deepen their faith, and grow in their relationship with Jesus Christ. Through your continued support, you are helping to provide the spiritual formation and guidance they need to live out the Gospel in profound ways. You are part of the Disciple Effect—the ripple of transformation that begins with one heart and spreads throughout communities. Just like a unique puzzle piece, your contribution plays an essential role in completing the bigger picture. Without you, this work cannot fully come together. Your prayers, generosity, and encouragement are the pieces that help form the foundation of lasting change in the lives of the young people we serve. |
|
| During Lent, we are particularly focused on themes of sacrifice, repentance, and renewal. This is a time when young disciples are encouraged to let go of distractions and open their hearts to God’s truth, which leads to greater freedom and purpose. As they embrace this transformation, they become equipped to share the message of Jesus with those around them, creating a lasting impact.
Your partnership in this mission is invaluable. Through your prayers and support, you help plant the seeds of discipleship that will grow and bear fruit for years to come. Together, we are raising up a generation of leaders who will carry Jesus Christ’s message of hope and freedom into the world.
Thank you for walking with us during this Lenten season and beyond. You are part of the solution, helping to complete a beautiful and powerful mission to spread the truth that sets us free.
So grateful!
Peace,
Mark Lysaght Executive Director |

| | | | Hitting The Road With Purpose |
| As we journey through the mission year, our NET teams across Australia and New Zealand are deep in the heart of ministry — bringing the Gospel to life in schools, parishes, and communities. In this edition, we’re excited to share a glimpse into the incredible work happening on the ground in Darwin, Auckland, Maroochydore, and Rockhampton. From faith-filled encounters to everyday moments of mission, these updates are a testament to how God is moving through the hearts of young people and those who serve them. |
| | We love Auckland! It’s already been a wild adventure, beginning our time here with a Hīkoi (walk of purpose) where we journeyed with the Year 13 students of Pompallier College over four days in the beautiful scenery north of Whangerai. During this time we went to Totara point where the first Mass in New Zealand was celebrated by Bishop Pompallier. We’ve run 12 retreat days (and counting) for high schools across Auckland and we have all been amazed at the response to prayer, with many flocking when the opportunity arises. The team have experienced nothing but joy with the students and strangers of Auckland, from our conversations at lunch time, to waving and having chats out the car window. We can’t wait to see what God has planned for the rest of our year! |
| | | We’re loving our life here in Rockhampton and have been truly blessed by so many communities who have opened their homes and hearts to us. Our mission has already taken us all over central Queensland, with trips up to Mackay, down to Bundaberg, and out west to Emerald and Springsure. We’ve ministered in 8 schools and to 16 church communities and continually feel the love of Jesus Christ through the people we meet. Team life has been full of joys, with highlights including watching Rocky sunsets, exploring the coastline, and picking up new skills like roller blading! We are so excited to continue our mission and see what the Lord has in store! |
| | | The past couple of months have been faith-filled, transformative, and full of joy. Our main ministry is at Siena College, where we spend four days a week building meaningful relationships with students. We’ve created ‘The Well,’ a space for encountering Jesus and being renewed. It’s been a blessing to see how warmly the students have received us—engaging in conversations, attending events, and joining in with enthusiasm. We also launched the 10:10 Maroochydore youth group at Stella Maris, with snacks, games, and formation. It's been well-received, with a consistent turnout each week. We’ve felt incredibly welcomed by the parish community. Sundays are full, with young adult gatherings, children’s church, Junior Ministers, and helping at Mass through music and service. Our Alpha ‘Life Essentials’ sessions continue to thrive, with students participating eagerly—one even asked to close with group prayer. Building relationships with these young people is a true privilege. God is already moving powerfully, and we’re excited for what’s ahead! |
| | | Our first month in the Northern Territory has been hectic! In our first four weeks, only one of them has been spent at our home base in Darwin, where we met lots of new people. The other three weeks included a year twelve retreat with MacKillop College, and a two week trip to Alice Springs where we visited as many classes as possible in the Our Lady of the Sacred Heart school. We also spent four days in Santa Teresa, an Aboriginal Community south-east of Alice Springs whose residents are mainly of the Arrernte people. During our time there we held a reconciliation and prayer experience for the seniors, and the joy that we witnessed during our time there was something really special. As our team grows closer together and to Jesus, the Holy Spirit has been working in us and overflowing into our ministry. We’re so keen to see what the rest of the year holds! |

| | Our Theme Scripture. Our theme scripture for 2025 comes from the Gospel of John and we see this lived out daily as the teams embrace and share the transformative power of the Gospel. Please join us in prayer that the young people of Darwin, Rockhampton, Auckland, and Maroochydore will encounter the truth of Christ, experience His freedom, and be filled with the hope the teams bring. |

Since 2001, Ignite Conference has been the passion project of a small group of people who carried a vision for what a gathering of faithful Catholics and the unchurched would look like.
NET Ministries are proud to partner with the Ignite Conference. We highly recommend getting along to one of the conferences in 2025! |
